The Creative Summit was founded by Chris Hill to further the knowledge and spirit of creativity in his students; he taught graduate students for 15 years at Southwest Texas State University (now Texas State University). Now in its 28th year, the Creative Summit has grown into a highly respected student competition and conference that is attended by students and professionals from all over the country. The Creative Summit is a non-profit organization established by Chris’s studio, HILL. All proceeds are applied toward cash scholarships awarded for outstanding work.
CHGO DSGN, a major exhibition of Recent Object and Graphic Design by 100+ of the city’s leading designers, first opened at Exhibit Hall in the Chicago Cultural Center. Chicago has long been regarded as an international center for design, and this retrospective celebrates the region’s innovative spirit.
This first installation of CHGO DSGN was curated by Rick Valicenti, recipient of the prestigious Smithsonian Cooper-Hewitt National Design Award. It has traveled in part to Beijing and in 2015 to the 28th Creative Summit in San Marcos.
